Hardik Pandya endured a disappointing IPL 2026 season with just 206 runs and four wickets for MI.

After finishing a torrid campaign with Mumbai Indians (MI) in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026, Hardik Pandya might search for a new franchise for the next season. However, MI skipper's recent Instagram story sparked a big buzz about his future in the league.

Hardik Pandya to join CSK?

Hardik shared a picture on his Instagram story, where a film was being played on a laptop, a notebook, a pen and his mobile phone. However, it was his mobile phone which grabbed everyone's attention, as the time showed '07:07' and it was automatically linked with MS Dhoni by the netizens.

Responding to a fan's question about whether CSK should bring back Matheesha Pathirana if Kolkata Knight Riders decide to release the Sri Lankan speedster, former India spinner Ravichandran Ashwin dropped a cryptic reply. Ashwin seemed to indicate the players CSK should target ahead of the next season.

While backing Matheesha resigning, Ashwin also suggested the names of Ben Stokes and a mysterious "07:07" player. Once again, fans were fast enough to find the connection of cryptic reference to Hardik Pandya, signalling towards the all-rounder's latest Instagram story.

Hardik Pandya's horrible IPL 2026 season

The MI skipper failed to perform as a player as well, as he managed to score only 206 runs at an average of 22.89 with a disappointing strike rate of 138.26. His highest score was only 40 runs against Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB).

With the ball, he could not do anything brilliant, clinching only four wickets at a high economy rate of 11.43 with a bowling average of 64.75.
