Chennai Super Kings (CSK) haven't gotten off to an ideal start to the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025. Despite notching a stunning win over five-time champions Mumbai Indians (MI), CSK lost their following two matches in a row. They first went down to Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB), which was their biggest defeat at their home turf, MS Chidambaram stadium, and then followed it up with another loss against Rajasthan Royals (RR). In light of their back-to-back losses, CSK's veteran all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja came up with a cryptic post which left the fans wondering about CSK's next move amidst all the criticism around their batting order including MS Dhoni and captain Ruturaj Gakwad.
Ravindra Jadeja's social media post for MS Dhoni amidst CSK's dismal outing in IPL 2025 breaks internet
Following their six-run defeat against Rajasthan Royals (RR) in Guwahati, Ravindra Jadeja shared a photograph on social media featuring himself alongside MS Dhoni on the field. Accompanying the image, Jadeja captioned the post, "Things will change."
Talking about the match, Ravindra Jadeja and MS Dhoni put up a valiant effort to guide Chennai Super Kings to win in a tight contest against RR. With two overs remaining in the innings, CSK required 39 runs to win the match. The duo managed to score 19 runs in the penultimate over, which was bowled by Tushar Deshpande.
Heading into the final over, CSK needed 20 runs, and Sandeep Sharma was entrusted with the responsibility of bowling it. The first delivery of the over was ruled a wide, and it appeared that MS Dhoni might once again orchestrate an improbable victory for his team. However, the hopes of CSK's win were diminished on the very first legal delivery of the over. Sandeep Sharma managed to dismiss the experienced wicketkeeper-batter. Ultimately, CSK fell short by six runs, allowing RR to secure their first victory of the season.
Presently, CSK find themselves in the seventh position on the IPL 2025 points table. Their next challenge will be against Delhi Capitals in a match scheduled for Saturday, April 5 at the Chepauk stadium.
