Story Highlights:

Nitish Kumar Reddy is all set to play against PBKS after missing the previous match.

There is a question mark over Shashank Singh's availability.

As the race for the playoffs intensifies, Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) host table-toppers Punjab Kings (PBKS) in 49th match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026. PBKS have suffered two consecutive losses whereas SRH suffered their first defeat in previous encounter after five consecutive wins.

SRH vs PBKS Match Details and Timing

The match will take place at Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium, Hyderabad. The toss will take place at 7 PM IST and the play will begin half an hour later.

Predicted Playing XI of Both Teams

SRH are unlikely to make multiple changes despite a defeat in the previous game. With fit-again Nitish Kumar Reddy all set to return as confirmed by head coach Daniel Vettori, Smaran Ravichandran will sit out after a lacklustre debut. There might be a toss-up between Harshal Patel and Praful Hinge.

SRH Predicted Playing XI plus impact player - Abhishek Sharma, Travis Head, Ishan Kishan (wk), Heinrich Klaasen, Salil Arora, Nitish Kumar Reddy, Aniket Verma, Pat Cummins(c), Harsh Dubey, Sakib Hussain, Harshal Patel/Praful Hinge, Eshan Malinga.

PBKS’ bowling has been an issue but they don’t have many options. Lockie Ferguson wasn’t impressive in his first game of the season whereas they seem sceptical about handing debut cap to Ben Dwarshuis. Xavier Bartlett and Marco Jansen are likely to continue as Azmatullah Omarzai will be available for selection in PBKS’ next game. Meanwhile, Nehal Wadhera has been out of form. He is likely to sit out if Shashank Singh has regained full fitness. PBKS also have the option of including Vishnu Vinod who is yet to get a game this season.

PBKS Predicted Playing XI plus impact player - Prabhsimran Singh(wk), Priyansh Arya, Cooper Connolly, Shreyas Iyer (c), Marcus Stoinis, Suryansh Shedge, Nehal Wadhera/Shashank Singh, Marco Jansen, Xavier Bartlett, Arshdeep Singh, Yuzvendra Chahal, Vijaykumar Vyshak.

Head-to-Head record between SRH and PBKS

SRH have a splendid record against PBKS. Out of 25, they have won 17 games against PBKS. However, earlier in the season, PBKS beat them by six wickets.

Pitch Report of Hyderabad Stadium

The pitch is highly likely to be batter-friendly as it has been for a better part of the tournament. The pitch will suit both teams' batting heavy lineups and whichever team bowls better will hold the key.

Hyderabad Weather Forecast for Match Day

Rain is unlikely to interrupt the expected run-fest. There will be hot and humid conditions in Hyderabad where due might come into play and make proceedings tougher for the bowlers.
