CSK asked to bat against RR.

CSK failed to get a good start vs RR.

South Africa's legendary speedster Dale Steyn questioned Chennai Super Kings' (CSK) batting strategy in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 clash against Rajasthan Royals at Arun Jaitley Stadium in New Delhi. MS Dhoni-led CSK are eliminated from the playoffs race of the 18th edition of the tournament. They are currently featuring in a dead rubber match against RR.

After being asked to bat, CSK failed to get a good start as their opener Devon Conway got out in the second over and after that they sent Urvil Patel who got out on the last ball of the same over. After Urvil's wicket, CSK shocked everyone by sending Ravichandran Ashwin to bat at number four. Steyn, who featured for RCB, took his 'X' formerly known as Twitter, questioning the strategy behind MS Dhoni-led CSK.

"CSK 3 down and they send 2 bowlers to bat. Sometimes I feel their math is not mathing" posted Dale Steyn.

Coming back to the match, RR captain Sanju Samson won the toss and opted to bowl first against CSK. CSK failed to bat as they lost six wickets in 14 overs. While writing this copy, MS Dhoni joined Shivam Dube for the big total. CSK are 137/6.
