"The Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) have named Shardul Thakur as a replacement for left-arm fast bowler Mohsin Khan, who has been ruled out of the 18th season of the TATA Indian Premier League (IPL) due to injury. Thakur, an experienced all-rounder, has been signed from the Registered Available Player Pool (RAPP) at his reserve price of INR 2 crore. A proven performer across all three formats for India, he brings valuable IPL experience, having played 95 matches for five franchises," IPL wrote in their official statement

Even before the season began, LSG had to deal with the injuries of four of their Indian fast bowlers. In addition to Mohsin, Avesh Khan, Akash Deep, and Mayank Yadav are also recuperating from a number of fitness concerns. According to reports, Mayank will be well by the middle of April, while Akash and Avesh will miss LSG's opening three games.

After finishing seventh in the IPL rankings the previous year, LSG is expecting a far better performance. Due to their subpar performance, the team fired skipper KL Rahul before spending an unprecedented Rs 27 crore to sign Rishabh Pant. LSG will begin their IPL 2025 campaign against the Delhi Capitals on Monday, March 24, in Visakhapatnam.
