Star Indian pacer Jasprit Bumrah made his much-awaited return to competitive cricket after 92 days during the IPL 2025 clash between Mumbai Indians and Royal Challengers Bengaluru, which is being played at the iconic Wankhede Stadium, on April 7 (Monday). Bumrah is returning to the cricketing field for the first time since the Sydney Test of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy after which he was sidelined due to a back injury. He even missed the Champions Trophy due to that. Fans were excited to see the clash between the premium pacer and Virat Kohli.
Kohli-Bumrah's banter goes viral
This banter took place in the 11th over of the RCB innings. On the fifth ball, Patidar played the ball towards Bumrah, who collected the ball and pretended to throw the ball at the non-striker's end, where Kohli was. Both players laughed at it and even shared a friendly shoulder bump, which went viral all across the internet. Earlier, Kohli even smashed the first ball he played from Bumrah for a six.

In T20 cricket, Virat Kohli became the second-fastest batter to reach the 13000-run milestone. In the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 Match 20, the 36-year-old accomplished the feat. The record is held by the great Chris Gayle, who achieved it while playing for the Jamaica Tallawahs against the Barbados Tridents in the 2019 Caribbean Premier League (CPL). Along with Kieron Pollard, Shoaib Malik, Gayle, and Alex Hales, Kohli also entered the rare group of hitters with 13,000 T20 runs.
Virat Kohli was eventually dismissed by Hardik Pandya in the 15th over. He played a crucial 67-run knock off 42 balls and helped set the base for RCB to put a big score on board. He steadied the ship after the team lost early wickets.
