Arshad Khan slipped twice in same over vs Lucknow Super Giants

Gujarat Titans have secured their spot in IPL playoffs

Gujarat Titans (GT) pacer Arshad Khan ended up slipping twice in the same over during his side's IPL clash against the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) on Thursday, May 22. The left-arm pacer fell in the second over before bowling the very first ball of his spell and fell again while bowling the fourth ball.

Physios rushed to attend to the 27-year-old after he fell for the first time as he looked to be in excruciating pain. According to the commentators, the heavy grass top at the crease was the reason behind his slip. Arshad was taken off the field following the end of the over.

Arshad Khan can be badly injured

The scenes on the field weren't pretty at all as Arshad also looked to have brusies on his hand. Though nothing is confirmed as of yet, this can turn out to be a major injury which can massively hamper his chances of featuring for GT in the playoffs.

GT skipper won the toss and invited LSG to bat first at the Narendra Modi stadium in Ahmedabad. This decision however, turned out to backfire as the visitors' opening pair of Aiden Markram and Mitchell Marsh slammed the hosts all around the venue.

Left-arm spinner Sai Kishore got the much-needed breakthrough for GT in the tenth over and dismissed Markram for 36 runs. However, things didn't get any better for the hosts as Marsh went on to form another brilliant partnership, this time with Nicholas Pooran.

Marsh went on to complete a sensational 56-ball century as LSG easily went past the 200-run mark. The Australian eventually went on to be dismissed for 117, but Pooran's fiery knock of 56 and skipper Rishabh Pant's late cameo of 16 runs from 6 deliveries saw the visitors post a memmoth total of 235/2 in 20 overs.

Though this match doesn't hold much significance for LSG as they are already eliminated, GT would want to secure their place in the top two with a victory. The Gujarat-based franchise will be hoping that the opening pair of Sai Sudharsan and Gill provide them with a strong start like they have done throughout the ongoing IPL season.
