Vaibhav Sooryavanshi is quickly proving why so many people are calling him the next big star of Indian cricket. With every match, the excitement around him keeps growing, and many are already talking about him playing for India soon.
On Friday, at the Barsapara Cricket Stadium, the 15-year-old played an unbelievable innings against the defending champions Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB). Facing a strong bowling attack that included Josh Hazlewood and Bhuvneshwar Kumar, he smashed 78 runs in just 26 balls. His fearless batting helped Rajasthan Royals chase down a big target of 202 in only 18 overs, keeping their unbeaten run alive in IPL 2026.
His innings didn’t look real at times. He hit eight fours and seven sixes, attacking bowlers much older and more experienced than him with complete confidence. Thanks to his knock, the Rajasthan Royals (RR) secured their fourth straight win and moved to the top of the points table.

After the match, there was a funny moment when RCB captain Rajat Patidar jokingly grabbed Vaibhav by the neck, reacting to how the youngster had just ended their winning streak.
Even after such a great performance, Vaibhav wasn’t fully happy. He looked a bit upset after getting out, as he was caught by Virat Kohli off the bowling of Krunal Pandya.
Later, after receiving the Player of the Match award, he explained why he felt that way. He said that if he had stayed longer, he could have added 10–20 more runs for the team. He also mentioned that finishing the chase earlier or adding extra runs can make a big difference, and that’s why he gets a little disappointed when he gets out playing a loose shot.

Rajasthan Royals will next take on Sunrisers Hyderabad on April 13, where all eyes will once again be on the young star.
