Virat Kohli shares adorable moment with Krunal Pandya's son after RCB's title win.

Rajat Patidar joins MS Dhoni and Rohit Sharma with back-to-back IPL titles as captain.

Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) defeated Gujarat Titans (GT) by five wickets in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026 to become two-time champions. Notably, the Rajat Patidar-led side successfully defended their title after winning the first title in 2025 by defeating Punjab Kings.

The celebrations kicked off immediately after Virat Kohli smashed the final six to seal the game for RCB. However, the moment was more about enjoying the moment rather than enjoying the title, as Virat Kohli was seen having an adorable moment with Krunal Pandya' son.

Just after the win, Kohli stayed on the ground with his wife Anushka Shara, waiting for the post-game presentation ceremony. The former India skipper spotted Krunal Pandya with his son. Virat stopped Krunal and hugged his son. The moment has gone viral across all social media platforms.

Here is the video of the moment:

With the IPL 2026 coming to an end, RCB has created history, as they joined Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and Mumbai Indians (MI) in an elite club. The Rajat Patidar-led side became the third team to win back-to-back titles in the history of IPL.

This was RCB's second title as well, the became champions for the first time in the 2025 edition by defeating Punjab Kings (PBKS) in the final clash. RCB performed exceptionally well across all stages of the tournament.

Rajat Patidar creates history

This monumental achievement places RCB in an elite tier as only the third franchise in IPL history to successfully defend their crown. Furthermore, Patidar has joined the legendary MS Dhoni and Rohit Sharma as the only captains to win the tournament in successive seasons; Dhoni accomplished the feat with CSK in 2010 and 2011, while Rohit mirrored it with MI in 2019 and 2020.

Beyond this trio, Gautam Gambhir remains the only other skipper with multiple championships, having guided the Kolkata Knight Riders to victory in 2012 and 2014.

Patidar has also set a unique individual milestone by becoming the first captain in league history to win the trophy in both of his first two seasons at the helm. While iconic leaders like Shane Warne, Rohit Sharma, and Hardik Pandya famously lifted the silverware in their debut managerial stints, none of them managed to retain the title the following year.
