Mumbai Indians (MI) captain Hardik Pandya dedicated the team's 54-run win against Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) to the kids present at Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. The MI vs LSG clash of Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 was dedicated to the Education and Sports for All (ESA) initiative championed by Nita M. Ambani.
The annual ESA game is one of the biggest highlights of the IPL season every year for the MI, with thousands of spirited children from NGOs across the city lighting up the stadium with their infectious energy and dreams.
After MI's win in their ESA game, skipper Hardik Pandya said that the kids who were there at the stadium created the environment for the five-time champions to defeat LSG and they did it for them.
"The momentum that we had, we are carrying it forward. Everyone is clicking. The kids created the atmosphere for us, we did it for them, so very glad. Everyone kept taking their chances" said Hardik during the post-match presentation.
After MI's fifth consecutive win of the IPL 2025, skipper Hardik praised teammates for their teamwork and efforts. He also highlighted debutant Corbin Bosch performance. Bosch who was added in MI's squad as an injury replacement for Lizaad Williams scored 20 runs in 10 balls and in bowling he picked up Ravi Bishnoi's wicket.
"The way Bosch came in and smashed those sixes, everyone chipped in. The bowlers were spot on. Good teams are made about the same, when everyone chips in. From Ryan, Will, to Bosch, myself, everyone is chipping in. I bowl when I am required. Today was the best chance for Bosch to come in and bowl. This competition is very tough, can't get carried away. We need to play good cricket, always prepare for the next game and keep up with the momentum going forward" Hardik added.
After registering a win against LSG, MI are currently at number two in the points table with six wins in 10 outings. MI will now face the Rajasthan Royals (RR) for their upcoming clash, which will take place on May 1 at Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Rajasthan.
