He noted that the team must now return to the drawing board to evaluate whether significant tactical changes or 'difficult calls' regarding the lineup are necessary, or if they should maintain their current approach in hopes of an eventual turnaround.

PBKS launched an aggressive pursuit of Mumbai Indians' 195-run target, capitalizing on a strong powerplay performance. By the end of the first six overs, the visitors had already put 62 runs on the board for the loss of just two wickets. Captain Shreyas Iyer anchored the chase with authority, smashing a brisk 66 off 35 balls to keep the momentum firmly in Punjab's favor.

Complementing his captain’s effort, Prabhsimran Singh delivered a standout performance, remaining unbeaten with a dominant 80 runs off only 39 deliveries. Their combined efforts ensured that Punjab navigated the high-stakes chase with ease, securing another impressive victory on the road.

In the aftermath of the defeat, MI skipper expressed deep disappointment regarding his team's execution on the field. The result marks a troubling slide for the franchise; after beginning the tournament on a winning note, the five-time champions have now suffered four consecutive losses, leaving the leadership searching for ways to arrest their declining form.

"To be very honest, I don't have much to say right now. I think we really need to go back on the drawing board and see where we are lacking. Is it individuals? Is it as a group? Is it as planning? We'll just figure it out and see what we can do next. I think we need to give credit to them as well. The ball started reversing. In the second inning, the dew came, and it slightly got better but having said that, they just outbeat us. They bowled better, they batted better, they fielded better, definitely and that talks to us again. No, I think we need to see, do we need to make some difficult calls or do we need to keep continuing and hope that we'll turn things around? These are some harsh questions that we eventually need to answer and yeah, ownership has to be taken." Pandya said at the post-match presentation.

MI, who are currently reeling at the ninth spot in the points table, will take on Gujarat Titans on April 20.
