Virat Kohli stressed on having family on tours.

Delhi Capitals (DC) veteran pacer Mohit Sharma has shared his opinion on Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) limiting players' families' presence on overseas tours. India's top-order batter Virat Kohli in a recent event of the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) said that it helps a player get back to normal as they don't want to sit and sulk in the room alone after the game.

BCCI's diktat came after the series loss on Australian soil. Mohit believes that presence of families does not have a negative impact. However, if something isn't in his control, he tends to focus on what he can do.

“Some things are beyond our control. While we all have personal opinions, it's essential to focus on what we can manage. How can the presence of families be a bad thing? If something isn't in our hands, it's best to leave it as it is. Rather than commenting on such matters, we should concentrate on what we can control,” Mohit was quoted as saying by ANI at DC's event ahead of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025.

Here's what Kohli said on importance of having family on tour

"If you ask any player, do you want your family to be around you all the time? You'll be like, yes. I don't want to go to my room and just sit alone and sulk. I want to be able to be normal. And then you can really treat your game as something that is a responsibility. You finish that responsibility, and you come back to life," said the 36-year-old during the RCB Innovational Lab Indian Sports Summit.

"Like, there could be different situations happening in your life all the time. And that allows you to be absolutely normal. Not in a vague sense, but in a very real way that you finish your commitment, your responsibility, and then you come back to your house, you're with family, and there's absolutely normalcy in your house and normal family life goes on. So, for me, that is absolutely a day of immense pleasure. And I won't miss any opportunities to go out and spend time with my family whenever I can."
