Indian speedster Mohammed Siraj who is currently in Bengaluru along with Rohit Sharma-led side featuring in the first Test match against New Zealand which is taking place at M. Chinnaswamy Stadium. The 30-year-old made his Test debut in 2020 during India's tour of Australia and as of now, he featured in 30 Test matches (including the ongoing Test vs New Zealand). 

Siraj who usually bat at number 11 got a forgettable outing in the first Test match against New Zealand as he got out on a duck by giving a simple catch to Tim Southee. This was Siraj's first Test match on his Indian Premier League (IPL) home ground. However, this is the first time in 2024 after January that Siraj got out in a Test match. 

This is the first time after ten months that Siraj got out in a Test match. He last got out during the Hyderabad Test against England on 25 Jan 2024. 

Coming back to the match, Sarfaraz Khan 150 along with Rishabh Pant's 99 helped India to score 462 in their second innings, setting New Zealand a target of 107 on day four. 

At tea, India were at 438 for six, holding an 82-run lead. Due to rain, there was a nearly two-hour delay, including a 40-minute lunch break, while India had previously trailed New Zealand by 12 runs in their second innings.

India were all out for just 46 in their first innings, while New Zealand responded with 402.
