Maxwell retired with a career ODI strike rate of 126.70. Not batter with more than 3,000 ODI runs has a better ODI strike rate than him. Among players with 1,000 or more ODI runs, West Indies all-rounder Andre Russell has a strike rate of 130.22.

Not just with bat, Glenn Maxwell is agile as a fielder as well. He holds the record for only Australian player to take four catches in an ODI innings on two occassions. First, he did it against England in 2015 in Sydney. Two years alter, he did it against New Zealand in Birmingham.

Glenn Maxwell's best ODI knock came in the ODI World Cup 2023. Against Afghanistan in a must-win game, Maxwell battled cramps to score an unbeaten 201 in the run chase of 292 at Wankhede Stadium. He helped Australia recover from 91/7 to take them home. It is the highest score by a batter at no.6 in ODIs.

In the historic clash against Afghanistan in Mumbai, Maxwell shared an unbeaten 202-run partnership with skipper Pat Cummins. This is the highest partnership for eighth wicket in ODIs. The previous best belonged to Justin Kemp and Andrew Hall. The South African duo put on an unbeaten 138-run stand against India in 2006.

Maxwell's 201 is also the only double century in an ODI run chase. The highest belonged to Pakistan's Fakhar Zaman who scored 193 against South Africa in an unsuccessful run chase. However, Shane Watson held the record for highest score in a successful run chase with unbeaten 185 against Bangladesh.
