Wanindu Hasaranga becomes fastest bowler to take 300 T20 wickets, breaks Australian pacer's record

Sri Lanka's Wanindu Hasaranga on January 25 scripted history in Sharjah as he claimed the wicket of England's Tom Kohler-Cadmore in the clash between Sharjah Warriorz and Desert Vipers. The Vipers leg-spinner became the fastest to 300 T20 wickets (including T20Is, domestic T20s and franchise cricket). Here is a look at six quickest bowlers to 300 wickets in the format.
 

6. South Africa's leg-spinner Imran Tahir completed 300 T20 wickets from 247 games. The 45-year-old leggie is currently the fourth-highest wicket-taker in the format's history.
 

5. Bangladesh's left-arm pacer Mustafizur Rahman achieved the milestone of 300 T20 wickets from 243 games. Rahman is currently the leading wicket-taker for Bangladesh in the format as a pacer.
 

4. Former Sri Lanka pacer Lasith Malinga completed 300 T20 wickets from 222 games. Malinga retired as the highest wicket-taker for Sri Lanka in the format with 390 wickets.
 

3. Afghanistan leg-spinner Rashid Khan breached the 300-wicket mark in T20s from 213 games. Rashid is the second-highest wicket-taker in the format and expected to surpass now-retired legendar West Indies pacer Dwayne Bravo who has 631 wickets.
 

2. Australia's crafty pacer Andrew Tye took 211 games to take 300 wickets. The 38-year-old Tye has most wickets for an Australian pacer in the format.
