Following up his century in the Ranchi opener with another sensational hundred, reaching the landmark in just 90 balls. This feat extended his record to 53 centuries in the format, further silencing any lingering critics. This knock also marked his 84th international ton overall, bringing him closer to challenging Sachin Tendulkar's all-time record. Demonstrating incredible consistency, this was the 11th instance of Kohli scoring back-to-back centuries in ODIs, setting a new record for any player in the history of the 50-over format.
Following his century, Kohli pulled off his signature celebration and then raised his bat to acknowledge the cheering Raipur crowd. As the cameras shifted to the Indian dressing Gautam Gambhir along with India players were observed giving the 37-year-old a standing ovation.
