Coetzee joins Titans

The 24-year-old was picked by the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022 winners Gujarat Titans (GT) in the mega auction. They engaged in a bidding war with Punjab Kings (PBKS) and acquired the youngster's services for Rs 2.4 crore, nearly double the base price he had opted for.

Mumbai Indians (MI) chose not to use the Right to Match (RTM) card for him. In his debut IPL season, he played 10 games and claimed 13 wickets. However, his economy rate of 10.17 runs per over was concerning for the franchise.

He has played 10 T20Is so far and taken 12 wickets from 10 appearances. His economy in T20Is is over 10 runs per over as well. He is handy with bat down the order too. So far, he has scored 81 runs at a strike rate of 135 in T20Is.
