Virat Kohli is celebrating his 36th birthday. Fans and fellow cricketers have been sending him well wishes. In the first ODI against Sri Lanka in Dambulla in 2008, Kohli made his debut for his country by opening the innings with Gautam Gambhir. After being removed for just 12 (22) in his debut, the young Delhi player started to show promise when he hit a half-century (54 off 66) in the series' fourth ODI.

The batting star has not looked back since, as his incredible feats in all three formats have made him possibly the greatest batter of the contemporary era. Kohli has scored 80 international hundreds, which is second only to the great Sachin Tendulkar's 100. With 40 victories from 68 games at a win percentage of 58.82, he is also India's most successful Test captain and fourth most successful player overall.
