Another exit before Sri Lanka tour as T Dilip leaves India coaching staff

In a series of expected events, Team India's fielding coach T Dilip's tenure has reached a conclusion, as he will not travel with the side for the upcoming Test tour of Sri Lanka. Interestingly, India's assistant head coach Ryan ten Doeschate also stepped down from his position.

T Dilip's tenure comes to an end

After the completion of the ODI series against England, both Ryan and Dilip saw their contracts expiring. None of them accompanied the Men in Blue in the recently concluded T20I series against Zimbabwe, where the Indian team emerged victorious. As an outcome, the BCCI deployed personnel from the Centre of Excellence. While Doeschate stepped down from the role to spend some time with his young family.

On the other hand, T Dilip's exit comes a year after receiving a contract extension. The fielding coach had recently faced a lot of criticism after India's underwhelming fielding performances in the recent assignments.

KKR waiting for Doeschate's arrival

A comeback to KKR would be a familiar adventure for Ryan ten Doeschate. He was a member of KKR's IPL triumphs in 2012 and 2014 as a player before playing a key role in the franchise's title winning campaign in 2024 in a coaching role.

With this, he would also see him getting back with Abhishek Nayar, who currently serves as team's head coach. Unlike international cricket, the IPL role would demand a short-term commitment, which would help Doeschate to spend more time with his family.
