Towhid Hridoy has stormed into record books as he cracked a scintillating triple century during the second unofficial Test against South Africa A. With this he became the first player from Bangladesh to reach 350 runs in first-class cricket. Over six years after playing a key role in his country's historic Under-19 World Cup victory in Potchefstroom, South Africa, the Bangladesh A captain returned to the exact same ground to deliver another unforgettable milestone.

In doing so, Hridoy joined an elite group as just the third Bangladeshi batter to compile a first-class triple-century. His mammoth 350 eclipsed the previous national benchmarks set by Tamim Iqbal (334*) and Raqibul Hasan (313*), establishing a new record for the highest individual score by a Bangladeshi player in the format—and the first-ever triple-hundred achieved by one on foreign soil.

Hridoy tonks robust 350 punctuated with 27 fours and 10 sixes 

The captain's extraordinary effort also left a lasting mark on South African cricket history. Hridoy now holds the distinction of scoring the highest first-class innings by a visiting batter in South Africa, while becoming only the second player overall to cross the 350-run threshold in the country's first-class history, sitting just behind Stephen Cook’s 390.

Picking up the final day of the second four-day encounter at Potchefstroom’s NWC Oval from his overnight score of 204, Towhid marched on to an undefeated 350. His marathon 481-ball effort featured 27 boundaries and 10 clearance hits over the ropes, cementing his record-breaking performance on Wednesday.

With Towhid's heroic knock anchoring the visitors, Bangladesh 'A' declared their opening innings at a formidable 676 for eight, building a 164-run advantage over South Africa 'A's initial tally of 512. The hosts managed 18 runs without losing a wicket in their second turn before both captains shook hands on a draw.

Despite the draw, South Africa 'A' claimed the two-game red-ball series 1-0, anchored by their dominant victory by an innings and 413 runs in the Pretoria opener.
