Big news: After stunning performance in India vs Afghanistan Test, Manav Suthar signed by this County Cricket side

After dropping a stunning performance in his maiden Test match, India's Manav Suthar has been signed by Warwickshire County Cricket Club on a short-term deal on Wednesday, June 10. The County side confirmed the news by posting an official statement on their website.

Good news for Manav Suthar

The Warwickshire County Cricket Club confirmed that the left-arm spinner would be available for selection for the upcoming two-rounds of the Rothesay County Championship.

The County side's Performance Director, James Thomas expressed his happiness on the arrival of India's star debutant, as he could be a lethal weapon in the Bears' bowling attack in the ongoing season.

"We’re delighted to welcome Manav to the Bears, at a really exciting time for the team," said James.

“We’ve played some good red-ball cricket already this season, and Manav will bring a new aspect to our bowling attack. It shows how highly he’s rated in India after his selection to their Test team last week, so it’s going to be great to have him around the group," added James.

The official release, also included a statement from Suthar, who would be joining the Bears soon, said that he is really excited to join Warwickshire for the next two County Championship games.

“I’m incredibly excited to be joining Warwickshire for the next two County Championship games, The team have started the season very well, so I’m hoping that I can play a part in helping them in their push for the title," said Suthar.

Suthar will be available for the Bears’ game against Yorkshire at Scarborough from Friday 12 June to Monday 15 June, and their fixture against Somerset at Taunton the following week.

Manav Suthar's historic performance in debut India Test

Manav Suthar clinched a six-wicket haul in his maiden game in India's one-off Test against Afghanistan, which started on June 6 and came to an end on June 8. Manav delivered a record-breaking performance on his debut, taking a total seven wickets for just 62 runs and won the Player of the Match award.

With the bat, Suthar managed to contribute a valuable 28 runs of 41, which led India to declare their innings at 564/8 while batting first in the game. The game turned out to be a look at the future, as Suthar has emerged as a low-key replacement for Ravindra Jadeja in the longest format of the game.
