This series also marks a significant era of transition for the Indian National Cricket Team. Under the new captaincy of Shubman Gill, who has recently taken over the leadership across formats from Rohit Sharma, a young Indian squad will look to reclaim dominance on home soil. The five-Test battle is scheduled to run from January 21 to March 3, 2027, providing a grueling test of skill and endurance for both sides.

The tour will kick off in Nagpur before moving to the historic venue in Chennai. Notably, the series will then travel to Guwahati, which is set to host a Border-Gavaskar Test for the first time, followed by the fourth Test in Ranchi. The high-stakes finale will be held at the world’s largest cricket stadium in Ahmedabad, setting the stage for what is expected to be a blockbuster conclusion to the home season.
