Covid-19 cases in Pakistan women camp before West Indies series, players put in quarantine

Three players of the women team have been tested positive for COVID-19, said the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) as they issued a statement on Thursday regarding the health emergency in the squad.

 

The names of the players have not been revealed by the board but they have been isolated from the rest of the team members. The rest of the team members have been also been put under quarantine until November 2. The positive cases emerged when there was routine testing going on in the Pakistan women's camp.

 

The team was in the preparatory camp


The Pakistan women team had assembled for preparation at the Hanif Mohammad High-Performance Centre in Karachi. All the players were completely vaccinated in May and were preparing for the upcoming series against West Indies.

 

Routine testing was conducted by the management, resulting in three COVID cases in the camp. The tested players will now undergo a mandatory 10-day quarantine until they are recovered. The rest of the staff have also been put under quarantine now.

West Indies are the guests


Pakistan women’s team will be hosting West Indies in the coming month. West Indies team will be playing three ODIs in National Stadium, Karachi in a span of seven days. The first match is scheduled to be played on November 8, the second on November 11 and the last on November 14.
