Cricket Australia announces squad for India A series in August, captain makes return after injury to prepare for World Cup 2025

Cricket Australia on June 24 announced Australia A's squad for the multi-format series at home against India A in August 2025. The series will mark the return of Australia captain Alyssa Healy who has not played a single game since February 1, 2025 due to her struggles with injuries.

The series will work as preparation for Healy and other Australian players from the senior side. Healy has been named in the One-Day and T20 squad. In One-Day, the 35-year-old will play under the leadership of Tahlia McGrath. In T20s, Charli Knott will take over as captain.

Other senior players in the side include Kim Garth, Darcie Brown. The series will also be crucial for Tess Flintoff who was handed a national contract.

Scheduled for India A vs Australia A series

The three-T20 series will be played from August 7 to August 10. The One-Day series will be played from August 13 to August 7 whereas the four-day encounter will begin on August 21.

Lead-up to India series and ODI World Cup 2025

After the 'A' series, Australia will tour India for a three-ODI series, just ahead of Women's ODI World Cup 2025. Australia will begin their World Cup campaign against New Zealand on October 1.
