India's star opener Smriti Mandhana has been rewarded for her maiden T20I century. Following the record-breaking knock at Trent Bridge, Nottingham, Mandhana has achieved career-best ICC ranking. She is now third-ranked T20I batter with 771 rating points.
Mandhana left Australia's stand-in captain Tahlia McGrath. The Aussie all-rounder has 757 rating points. Mandhana has four T20Is to claim the top spot. West Indies captain Hayley Matthews is just ahead of Mandhana with 774 rating points. Australia opener Beth Mooney holds the top spot with 794 rating points.
Shafali one place up, Rodrigues one place down
Back in the T20I squad, Shafali Verma scored 20 runs from 22 balls and moved one place up to 13h position. She is just below Indian captain Harmanpreet Kaur, who missed the series opener. New Zealand's Sophie Devine moved up to 14th position. India's Jemimah Rodrigues slipped one place to 15th. She was dismissed for a two-ball duck by Lauren Bell.
Deepti slips, Bell moves up
There were a few changes in top 10 bowler rankings as well. Despite two wickets for 32 runs against England, Deepti Sharma slipped to third position. She is just one point shy of Australia's Annabel Sutherland. Bell has been rewarded for three-wicket haul. She moves two places to fourth position. As a result, Sophie Ecclestone and Renuka Singh Thakur slipped to fifth and sixth position respectively.
South Africa's Nonkululeko Mlaba slipped out of top 10 with a three-place slide. West Indies' Afy Fletcher made her placed in top 10.
Changes expected
Plenty of changes are expected as it is a five-T20I series between India and England. If Harmanpreet regains full fitness, she will have a chance to re-enter top 10. On the eve of the second T20I, spin-bowling all-rounder Sneh Rana gave an update on Harmanpreet's fitness.
"There are positive signs, she [Harmanpreet] has joined the practice session today," Rana said on June 30. "She will be assessed and monitored post the practice session."
