Dharmendrasinh Jadeja parts ways with Saurashtra to join Chhattisgarh for domestic season, Shashank Singh too makes switch

Saurashtra’s domestic setup is undergoing a major shift as veteran left-arm spinner Dharmendrasinh Jadeja has officially cut ties with the state team ahead of the new season. After securing a No Objection Certificate (NOC) from the Saurashtra Cricket Association (SCA), the 36-year-old stalwart is poised to join Chhattisgarh for his next domestic chapter, bringing an end to a stellar 13-year tenure as a cornerstone of Saurashtra's bowling attack.

Dharmendrasinh Jadeja leaves Saurashtra, joins Chhattisgarh

The departure follows internal discussions between Jadeja, the SCA, and team management regarding his future across formats. While the association and coaching staff preferred that the seasoned campaigner restrict his focus to red-ball cricket, Jadeja remained intent on competing in limited-overs formats as well. Across his career, he has compiled an impressive record that extends beyond his 100 first-class games to include 90 List A and 73 T20 appearances.

Jadeja leaves behind a formidable legacy, having played an instrumental role in Saurashtra’s Ranji Trophy triumphs during the 2019-20 and 2022-23 seasons. With 423 first-class scalps overall, his impact over the past decade is unmatched, his 293 Ranji Trophy wickets since the 2017-18 season stand as the highest by any bowler in the competition during that stretch. Bidding farewell to their long-serving spinner, an SCA official extended the association's best wishes for his upcoming stint with Chhattisgarh.

In further domestic player movements, Odisha has bolstered its roster by signing Vidarbha pacer Lalit Yadav and Baroda all-rounder Ninad Rathva as professional recruits for the upcoming season. Both athletes—30-year-old Yadav and 27-year-old Rathva, have been granted No Objection Certificates (NOCs) by their home state bodies, the Vidarbha Cricket Association and Baroda Cricket Association, with an Odisha Cricket Association official formally confirming their arrivals.

Fast bowler Rajneesh Gurbani is returning to Vidarbha following a single-season stint with Maharashtra, while dynamic batter Shashank Singh has parted ways with Chhattisgarh to represent Puducherry in the upcoming campaign.
