Women's Emerging Teams Asia Cup was scheduled to take place in Sri Lanka next month.

India have pulled out of the Men's T20 Asia Cup 2025 amidst tensions between India and Pakistan.

If both tournaments don't take place, it will be a big loss for ACC chair Mohsin Naqvi.

The Women's emerging teams Asian Cup 2025 has been cancelled in the aftermath of India's precision strikes at Pakistan's terror infrastructure as part of Operation Sindoor. The Asian Cricket Council (ACC) headed by former Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chief Mohsin Naqvi were scheduled to host the tournament in Sri Lanka next month.

Sources have told Sports Tak that India will not play or host the Men's T20 Asia Cup 2025. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has informed the ACC about its decision. However, a final call on whether the tournament will go ahead will be decided in the ACC meeting which is expected to be held soon.

If the Men's T20 Asia Cup 2025 does not take place, it will be a big blow for the ACC chairperson Naqvi as he will have to bear the financial losses.

75 per cent of the revenue generated by the Asia Cup is distributed equally among five full-members -- India, Pakistan, Afghanistan, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka. The rest is distributed among associated nations and affiliates. If the tournament does not take place, it will be a big blow for the other cricket boards in Asia as well.

What happened in the last edition of Asia Cup?

In the previous edition of Asia Cup in 2023, India refused to travel to Pakistan and played their matches in Sri Lanka. In the six-nation event including Nepal, Rohit Sharma's India beat Babar Azam-led Pakistan by 228 runs in the Super Fours clash to knock them out. The final was played between India and Sri Lanka in Colombo. Mohammed Siraj's six-wicket haul helped India bowl out Sri Lanka for 50 and win the final by 10 wickets.

Following the Asia Cup, India refused to travel to Pakistan for the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 as well. India played all their matches in Dubai and beat co-hosts Pakistan led by Mohammad Rizwan in the group stage match. Rizwan's Pakistan could not make it past the group stage. India beat New Zealand in the final to lift the Champions Trophy.
