England announced their playing XI for the first of the three-T20I series against New Zealand which is scheduled to be played on October 18 at Hagley Oval, Christchurch. England have picked a side with limited bowling options. The Hundred 2025's highest run-scorer, Jordan Cox has retained his place in the playing eleven after a half-century against Ireland.
Zak Crawley will not make his T20I debut in the series opener. He was selected in the side on the back of his performances in the Hundred 2025.
England have four wicketkeeper-batters in their lineup — Tom Banton, Cox, Phil Salt and Jos Buttler.
The two all-rounders missing out are Jamie Overton and Rehan Ahmed. Pacer Sonny Baker who had a horrible start to his T20I and ODI career will warm the bench as well.
