Former Nepal men's cricket team captain Sandeep Lamichhane has been found guilty of raping a minor by Kathmandu District Court on December 29. Lamichhane was out on bail and playing cricket while he was accused of raping a 17-year-old in a hotel in Kathmandu in August 2022.
The order was passed by a single bench of Judge Shishir Raj Dhakal after a week-long hearing which concluded on Friday. However, the court concluded that the victim was not a minor at the time of the rape.
