Legendary cricketer Gautam Gambhir has always been known for his straightforward and aggressive approach and that is why many believe his appointment as the new Indian head coach will bring positive changes in the Indian dressing room and team. He would be able to bring that fire inside the players for which he himself was famous for. One of his old statements about injury management is now going viral on the internet after he took over the office from Rahul Dravid.
Gambhir's massive remark on injury management
Gambhir said that he is a strong believer in a player playing all three formats and is not a fan of the concept of injury management. As per him, if a player gets injured they should go recover as any good player would like to represent his country across all formats.

“I am very strong believer in one thing that if you're good, you should play all three formats. I have never been a big believer in injury management. you get injured, you go get recovered. As simple as it gets. When you are playing International cricket and you are good enough, you ask any of the top players, if they wanna play all three formats. They don't wanna say and they don't wanna be labeled as red-ball bowlers or white-ball bowlers,” said Gambhir in a video posted by Star Sports.
“Injuries are part of a sportsman's life and if you are playing all three formats, you get injured, you go back, get recovered but you should be playing all three formats. I am not a big believer in identifying people that we are gonna keep him off Test matches, we are gonna manage his injuries, workload, and stuff. As a professional cricketer, you have a very small span to play for your country and you want to play as much as you can and when you are in a very good form, go ahead and play all three formats,” he added.
Gautam Gambhir's first assignment
The upcoming tour of Sri Lanka in which India will play three T20Is and three ODIs will be the first assignment for Gautam Gambhir as the new Indian head coach. He took over the office as the successor of Rahul Dravid who ended his tenure with the Men in Blue after the historic triumph in the recently concluded T20 World Cup 2024.
