Indian batting maestro Virat Kohli's return to the Ranji Trophy after a span of 12 years was being celebrated by the Delhi crowd at the Arun Jaitley Stadium. However, the show was ended on short notice as Railways' Himanshu Sangwan ended Virat's stay on the pitch after just 15 balls. The Indian star could only score 6 runs. He hit Sangwan for a boundary but got clean bowled on the very next ball.

Fans wait turns bitter

Fans were disappointed and frustrated as they could not see Virat bat on Day 1 of the match and the wait continued more than an hour on Day 2. However, despite this fans were firm on their seats and screens just to watch him bat. After Rahul Sharma's delivery caught Yash Dhull on the pad, the Delhi supporters surprisingly got happy. They were happy because it meant it was time for King Kohli to walk out. The moment Virat Kohli stepped out the whole stadium was echoing with cheers.

However, little did they know that their wait wouldn't have a sweet reward instead it would turn bitter. Virat's boundary off Sangwan did make everyone happy but that was it. Kohli could not score more than 6 runs and returned back to the dugout leaving himself and the attendance disappointed.

Himanshu Sangwan gave Delhi another big blow really soon after dismissing Sanat Sangwan, the set batter in his very next over. His quick blows rattled the hosts' batting line-up and put them in a spot of bother.

Now the responsibility has fallen on Delhi captain Ayush Badoni's shoulder to lead the team to a good score more than Railways 241 runs in the first innings. As for fans, they will have another chance to see Virat Kohli bat during the second innings and they will hoping that the former Indian captain will play a good knock to mark his much-awaited comeback to domestic cricket.
