Australia's batting sensation Sam Konstas has yet again talked about the 'shoulder barge' incident with Virat Kohli during Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024-2025. The 19-year-old Australian opener who made a strong impression during the recent Border-Gavaskar Trophy, has openly discussed his on-field altercation with India's batting maestro and said that he doesn't have any regrets, describing the shoulder barge as a 'special moment.   

Konstas grabbed eyeballs with his aggressive batting style in the series. However, the most talked-about moment was undoubtedly the heated exchange with Virat Kohli during the fourth Test at the Melbourne Cricket Ground. The incident, which involved a shoulder barge and a verbal spat. The incident saw International Cricket Council (ICC) punishing Kohli with 20 per cent match fee.   

The animosity between the two players continued throughout the series, with both engaging in verbal exchanges whenever the opportunity arose. This intense rivalry added another layer of drama to the already fiercely contested Border-Gavaskar Trophy.

Reflecting on the on-field altercation with Virat Kohli during the Border-Gavaskar Trophy, Sam Konstas expressed no regrets about the incident. He described the shoulder barge as a 'special' moment, admitting to having watched the incident multiple times.

"No, I have no regrets. I like to live by that and it was so special. I've watched it so many times, I'm not going to lie," Konstas said while speaking to 7 News.

Konstas played an instrumental role in Australia's success during the recent Border-Gavaskar Trophy. His aggressive batting style proved to be a valuable asset, particularly in the fourth Test match, where he scored a crucial half-century, contributing to Australia's resounding victory. Australia ended up winning the five-match series 3-1 with six-wicket win in the fifth and final Test in Sydney. This was for the first time in 10 years they lifted the Border-Gavaskar Trophy.

Konstas was rewarded for his exceptional batting show in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy and was thus included in Australia's upcoming series against Sri Lanka which is set to start from January 29.
