Afghanistan pacer Abdul Aziz wreaked havoc with a six-wicket haul as India B Under-19 team was bowled out for 97 in the run chase of 169 on November 19 in the triangular series featuring India A Under-19. In their first match of the series, Afghanistan Under-19, led by Mahboob Khan, registered a comfortable 71-run victory at BCCI's Centre of Excellence Ground 2, Bengaluru.

India B Under-19 skipper Aaron George won the toss and opted to bowl first. Ishan Sood struck twice with the new ball, removing both openers Khalid Ahmadzai (14) and Osman Sadat (11). Then, Uzairullah Nilazai was run out by Udhav Mohan for a single-digit score. Naman Pushpak got into the act and dismissed Afghan skipper Mahboob.

Faisal Shinozada and Azizullah Miakhil shared a crucial 48-run partnership for the fifth wicket. The partnership was broken by leg-spinner Pushpak with the wicket of Shinozada. He scored 58 runs from 76 balls, including seven fours. Mihakhil held on to one end whereas wickets fell off the other. Pushpak registered a four-wicket haul and conceded 45 runs from his quota of 10 overs. Miakhil was the ninth to fall. He scored 42 runs from 77 balls, including two fours and a six. Afghanistan Under-19 were bowled out for 168 from 45.2 overs.

Aziz strikes with new ball

In the run chase, skipper George fell to Aziz in the third over. In the same over, Maulyarajsingh Chavda fell for a three-ball duck. With the new ball, Aziz continued to strike. Vedant Trivedi fell for a single-digit score. Opener Yuvraj Gohil was desperately looking for a partner. But, wickets kept falling at the other end. Harvansh Pangalia and Rahul Kumar fell in consecutive overs. India B Under-19 found themselves five down for 30 in the 13th over.

Gohil’s fifty in vain as Aziz takes hat-trick

Jeganathan Hemchudeshan tried to stick a partnership with the opener. His stay at the crease was ended by Salman Khan in the 18th over. Then, Pushpak went for a blockathon while Gohil scored from the other end. The opener reached his half-century. Aziz returned to take a hat-trick. After Pushpak, he dismissed Deepesh Devndra and Mohan to complete the hat-trick. Ishan Sood could not put up a fight and was the last to fall. India B Under-19 were bowled out for 97 in 29.3 overs. Gohil remained stranded for 60 off 80 balls, including eight fours and a six.

This is India B Under-19's second defeat in the triangular series. In the opener, they lost to Vihaan Malhotra-led India A Under-19 by 37 runs. Riding high on confidence, Afghanistan Under-19 will go up against India Under-19 A on November 21.
