The last date for giving the list is October 31. Gujarat Titans who lifted the trophy in their first season defeating inaugural champions Rajasthan Royals in the final.

The franchise was the finalist in IPL 2023 where CSK defeated them in a rain-affected match by five wickets at Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. However, the franchise could not perform in the last season of the tournament since their captain Hardik Pandya went back to his old franchise Mumbai Indians (MI) and veteran speedster Mohammed Shami was also on the road to recovery.

Shami was unable to play because he was injured in the ODI World Cup 2023. Now, there are speculations on whether the veteran speedster will play for the Gujarat-based franchise in the upcoming edition of the tournament.

Mohammed Shami's take on IPL 2025

The Indian speedster told Sportstak that he doesn't know anything about whether Gujarat Titans would retain him or not as the franchise have not spoken with him yet. However, he would not refuse them if they did give him the option.

“I don’t know anything about this. The decision lies firmly with the franchise. If they feel the need to retain me, then they will. Otherwise, they won’t. I haven’t had any word with them so far, but if they do give the option, then who would refuse them?” he said.
