Pace sensation Umran Malik is deemed a prodigious talent and boasts a skill set to deliver 150 kph howitzers on a regular basis. The right-arm express pacer burst into the limelight while playing for the Sunrisers Hyderabad in the Indian Premier League (IPL). After he caught the attention of onlookers with his blistering speed, Umran was picked for the Indian senior men's national side and he continues to hone his skills.

Veteran India pacer Ishant Sharma, who knows a thing or two about bowling fast and disturbing batters with pace, offered a piece of advice to Umran and asked the 23-year-old to not worry about line and length. Ishant wants Umran to bowl fast and scare batters with his express pace.

"He shouldn't worry about where the deliveries land. With experience, he will understand. So if he can bowl at 150 or 160, he should concentrate only on that. He should just back himself and should not worry about leaking runs. What is the use of bowling that fast if the batters don't end up closing their eyes in fear? So someone should tell him and give him the confidence that you have to bowl so fast that batters fail to see it," Ishant said on Cricbuzz show 'Rise Of New India'.

Umran has played eight ODIs and as many T20Is for the Men in Blue so far in his nascent career. The right-arm paceman has bagged 13 wickets in ODIs while 11 scalps in the shortest format of the game. He has played 17 IPL matches, bagging 24 wickets in the process.

The 23-year-old is part of the Indian squad for the ongoing ODI series against Australia. Umran didn't get a chance to display his talent in the first two matches of the series and it is unlikely that he will find a place in the playing XI for the third ODI as well.
