MS Dhoni, the former captain of the Indian cricket team, has been charged by the Jharkhand State Housing Board of utilizing residential land at his Harmu Road home for commercial purposes. The board claims that it is against its rules to use residential land for non-residential uses. Residential plots allotted by the board may only be utilized for residential reasons; any other use is prohibited, according to Board Chairman Sanjay Lal Paswan.
Board investigates the plot
Reports that a diagnostic center was being established at Dhoni's home in Harmu sparked the uproar. In light of this, the board has mandated an inquiry to ascertain the original intent behind the plot's allocation and if it is being utilized in compliance with the regulations. Strict measures will be taken if it is determined that the residential land is being exploited for commercial purposes.
Dhoni used to live at the house on Harmu Road, but he now lives in his new house on Simaliya's Ring Road. According to reports, the diagnostic lab has been set up at the older property, which is why the housing board is closely monitoring the situation.
Notably, the Jharkhand government awarded Dhoni the plot while Arjun Munda was Chief Minister for his outstanding cricket accomplishments. The roughly 10,000-square-foot property is now home to an opulent house.
It is interesting to note that the BJP's state headquarters on Harmu Road has also been accused of misusing residential lands. In this regard, the Housing Board has previously sent out notices. Both cases are still being investigated, and after they are finished, the proper action will be done.
