Cricket legend Mahendra Singh Dhoni celebrates his 43rd birthday on July 7, Sunday. Unlike many celebrities, Dhoni maintains a low profile on social media, rarely offering glimpses into his personal life. Despite his social media silence, Dhoni remains a beloved figure, not just in India but globally. Tributes are pouring in for the former Indian captain, widely regarded as the country's most successful, having led the team to an impressive three ICC trophies. Among those offering their well-wishes is former Indian opener Gautam Gambhir, who specifically lauded Dhoni's incredible achievement of securing three ICC titles for Team India.

“Lot's of captains will come and go but it will be hard to match MS Dhoni's record for the Indian team. You can become number 1 in Tests, you can win overseas matches. But to lift two ICC World Cups and one Champions Trophy, there is no bigger achievement than this," Gambhir said in the video shared by Star Sports.

“We shared the biggest moments together, I was part of those moments. Whether being a part of the T20 World Cup, ODI World Cup, winning the CB series in Australia, winning Test series in New Zealand, drawing Test series in South Africa, winning the Asia Cup, I can't mention one.

“He's probably the best captain India has ever had,” he added.

Veteran Indian fast bowler Irfan Pathan reminisced about his first encounter with a young MS Dhoni, way back in 2004. He said:

“When I met him in 2004 during a match with the India A. He pulled a bouncer of my ball and I understood this batsman is special. We used to laugh about lot of things. People don't know this but MS Dhoni is a very mischievous person.”

Dwayne Bravo, Dhoni's longtime teammate at Chennai Super Kings, shed light on the former Indian captain's unique qualities.

  • “He is very cool, he is just like a father figure to us. Just like how Sachin Tendulkar is to Mumbai Indians, Chennai Super Kings have so much success. Being in a CSK team they create an environment where everyone enjoys each other, everyone loves each other. I have played for many teams but CSK will always be on the top,” Bravo said.
