Noor Ahmad wreaks havoc with four-fer as Super Kings bowl out Narine's Knight Riders for 124, register thumping 57-run-win

Afghanistan left-arm chinaman bowler Noor Ahmad is in fantastic form. He claimed four wickets as Texas Super Kings bowled out Los Angeles Knight Riders for 124 and won the match by 57 runs at Oakland Coliseum, California. Sunil Narine-led LA Knight Riders suffered their second defeat in a row whereas Super Kings occupied the second spot. 

Super Kings post par total

Narine won the toss and opted to bowl first. Andre Russell struck early. He knocked over captain Faf du Plessis after getting hit for a six. Saiteja Mukkamalla took on Russell and hit him for two fours and a six in the 19-run over. Texas Super Kings were 55/1 after powerplay overs. Tanveer Sangha was hit for a four and a six before he got Devon Conway caught at long-off. He scored 34 runs from 22 balls. Mukkamalla's catch was dropped at mid-wicket but he could not make use of it. In the 10th over, Sangha dismissed him for a 22-ball 31. Texas Super Kings were 83/1 at the halfway stage.

After three boundary-less overs, Shubham Ranjane found a boundary. Hit hit Sangha for a six as well. Shadley van Schalkwyk was brought back into the attack and he got Ranjane's wicket for a 19-ball 24. Donovan Ferreira took risks and it paid off. He scored 32 runs from 16 balls. On the other end, Daryl Mitchell contributed with a 33-ball 36 as Texas Super Kings posted 181/4. Narine was most economical. He conceded 26 runs from four overs but remained wicketless.

Poor start for Knight Riders

LA Knight Riders' run chase got off to a poor start. In-form Adam Milne dismissed Andre Fletcher lbw. Alex Hales hit three sixes and a four in his 17-ball 25. He lost his wicket to Stephen Wiig. Then Noor came into the attack and got the wicket of Nitish Kumar. LA Knight Riders were 42/3 after powerplay overs. Wiig in his second over dismissed Saif Badar lbw for a golden duck. Matthew Tromp tried to push the scoring rate. He hit Ranjane for two fours and a six. Unmukt Chand joined him and hit Wiig for a six. Mitchell was introduced into the attack and he knocked over Chand for a 23-ball 22. LA Knight Riders were 72/5 at halfway stage.

Noor ends Knight Riders' hopes

In his second over Noor struck twice to get rid of Caribbean duo Russell and Narine. In his third over, he ended Tromp's cameo as well. Tromp scored 23 runs from 12 balls. Van Schalkwyk tried to keep the run chase alive with his cameo but it was too late. Zia-ul-Haq returned to dismiss him. He scored 27 runs from 21 balls. Then Milne wrapped up the proceedings with Sangha's wicket. Ali Khan remained unbeaten for 13-ball 16 as LA Knight Riders were bowled out for 124 in 17.1 overs.
