India pacer Mohammed Siraj has earned a nomination for the ICC Player of the Month award for August. This comes after he had put in sensational perfformances in the bowling department during the five-match Test series against England. Alongside him, New Zealand seamer Matt Henry and West Indies speedster Jayden Seales have also beeen nominated for the award.
Notably, the fifth and final Test between India and England was played in the month of August. The Men in Blue went on to win that match in thrilling fashion by six runs and Siraj was the star of the show. The 31-year-old took a total of nine wickets during the match and picked up a fifer in the all-important final innings to massively help the visitors in bundling out the hosts for 367 runs while chasing down the target of 374. This victory saw the Men in Blue level the series at 2-2.

Siraj gave a brilliant performance with the ball throughout the crucial red-ball assignment against England and finsihed as the top wicket-taker with 23 scalps under his belt. He stepped up big time as India's frontline pacer in Jasprit Bumrah's absence for two matches. Additionally, Siraj was also adjudged the Player of the Match for the fifth Test against England. He will definitely be the one to beat when it comes to the Player of the Month award.
Henry and Seales' performance
Meanwhile, both Henry and Seales also gave valiant contributions with the ball for their respective teams during the month of August. Henry was adjudged the Player of the Series in New Zealand's 2-0 win over Zimbabwe in the longest format. The Black Caps won both the matches quite comfortably as the seamer finished the series with an impreessive 16 wickets under his belt.
On the other hand, Seales was the hero for West Indies in their 2-1 victory over Pakistan in the three-match ODI series. The victory was nothing short of historic for the Windies as it was their first over the Men in Green in the format since 1991. Seales finished as the top wicket-taker of the series with 10 scalps from three innings. Notably, he racked up figures of 6/18 in the final ODI of the assignment and carried the team to a mammoth 202-run win.
