Although Arshdeep Singh was picked in India's Test squad for the 2025 England series, the left-arm is still waiting for his maiden cap in the longest format after injuries and team combinations forced him to sit on the bench. On the other hand, Haryana's Anshul Kamboj, who made his Test debut last year in Manchester, has also been selected in the North Zone squad for the Duleep Trophy, which will start on August 23.
Big prize for Jammu and Kashmir players
After Jammu and Kashmir's historic Ranji Trophy triumph, the selectors rewarded strong reputation to the champions by selecting six of their players in the side. Along with Wadhawan, opener Qamran Iqbal, all rounder Abdul Samad, left-arm spinner Abid Mushtaq, and speedster Sunil Kumar and Yudhvir Singh also secured their spots in the squad.

However, veteran Jammu and Kashmir skipper Paras Dogra was given consideration, as the selectors are looking for young players in the squad. Notably, pacer Auqib Nabi will stay unavailable, as he will travel with Team India for the Sri Lanka Test series.
North Zone's squad for Duleep Trophy:
Kanhaiya Wadhawan (Captain), Ayush Badoni (Vice-Captain), Sanat Sangwan, Qamran Iqbal, Yash Dhull, Ayush Doseja, Abdul Samad, Nishant Sindhu, Arjun Sharma, Abid Mushtaq, Arshdeep Singh, Sunil Kumar, Anshul Kamboj, Yudhvir Singh, Nikhil Kashyap.
