Pakistan are scheduled to play three match ODI series vs Bangladesh.

The upcoming Pakistan tour of Bangladesh is under the cloud of uncertainty due to ongoing geopolitical tensions involving countries like Israel, Iran, the UAE, Italy, Saudi Arabia and more. Notably, Pakistan are scheduled to play a three-match ODI series against Bangladesh.

Why Pakistan will not travel to Bangladesh

Pakistani media Geo Super reported that Pakistan's three-match ODI series will take place on the designated time if the current geopolitical situation does not escalate travel risks or security concerns.

“The ongoing regional tensions have made the tour uncertain, which, according to the insiders, would only proceed if the prevailing situation does not escalate travel risks or security concerns," Pakistan’s media outlet Geo Super was quoted as saying on March 1.

According to the original schedule, Pakistan's men’s cricket team is scheduled to arrive in Dhaka on March 9 for the three ODI matches which will be played on March 11, 13 and 15 at Shere Bangla National Stadium in Mirpur, Dhaka.

Bangladesh's development

While the reports in Pakistan have indicated that the series is under a cloud of uncertainty, the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) have insisted that they have not received any official communication from the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) regarding the postponement of the series.

“If this comes to a stage where they can’t travel, then we cannot do anything. But so far we haven’t received any correspondence from the PCB in that regard," BCB cricket operations chairman Nazmul Abedin told reporters on Monday.

According to him, the Bangladesh Cricket Board is prepared to host the series as per schedule.

Pakistan's T20 World Cup 2026 performance

Pakistan failed to seal their T20 World Cup 2026 semifinal berth after they failed to defeat Sri Lanka by a margin of at least 65 runs in their third and final Super 8s match. The Men in Green's last T20 World Cup semifinal outing came in 2022, where they lost against England in the title decider.
