There has been a massive shift in the ICC Test rankings following the recently concluded two-match red-ball series between the Indian cricket team and Bangladesh. Indian players have gained a lot from this series and that is reflected in their rankings. However, some of them even suffered a little skid.

Jasprit Bumrah dethrones Ravichandran Ashwin

Star pacer Jasprit Bumrah has climbed to the top of the ICC top 10 bowling rankings. He has dethroned veteran Indian spinner Ravichandran Ashwin for the spot. Both of them took 11 wickets in the series but Bumrah had taken 6 in the second Test which was one more than Ashwin.

Virat Kohli, Yashasvi Jaiswal gain big

Yashasvi Jaiswal was named Player of the Match in the rain-affected Test match against Bangladesh. The left-hander's performance in the match saw him move two spots to third on the updated Test batter rankings, a new career high. In the new rankings for Test batsmen, Jaiswal's only rivals are Joe Root of England and Kane Williamson of New Zealand. Meanwhile, teammate Virat Kohli has returned to the top 10, moving up to sixth place overall after scoring 47 and 29* against Bangladesh in Kanpur.

Rohit Sharma out of top 10

Indian captain despite his aggressive style of play and crucial contribution has suffered a drop of 5 spots which has also taken him out of the top 10. He is currently ranked in the 15th spot and Shubman Gill has also suffered a skid of two spots and is on the 17th spot
