Australia's hard-hitting batter Tim David wreaked havoc in the Abu Dhabi T10 League 2025 final. UAE Bulls batter whacked humongous sixes in his unbeaten 30-ball 98 against Rahmanullah Gurbaz-led Aspin Stallions at Sheikh Zayed Stadium, Abu Dhabi on November 30.

David makes fielders spectators

Gurbaz won the toss and opted to bowl first. Tymal Mills started well, conceding just six runs from the first over. James Vince got retired hurt. Phil Salt hit a six and two fours before falling to Hafeez ur Rehman. David scored 15 runs off the first 11 balls he faced. After six overs, UAE Bulls were 61/1 with Rovman Powell batting on the other end. In the seventh over, Powell became a spectator at the non-striker's end as David smashed Zohair Iqbal for four consecutive sixes including three over long-on.

In the penultimate over, David reached his fifty with a six off 20 balls. He hit Hafeez for two more sixes in the over. Ashmead Nedd was handed the ball to bowl the final over. David started off with a six over long-off. He hit the next ball towards deep mid-wicket and scampered for a couple of runs. The carnage followed as he hit the ball over long-off, deep mid-wicket and deep extra cover for four consecutive sixes. With 32 runs off the final over, UAE posted 150/1. In addition to 12 sixes, David hit three fours in his 30-ball 98. Powell contributed with 24 runs from 20 balls.

Stallions crawl in run chase

In the run chase, Stallions faltered. Impact player Fazalhaq Farooqi knocked over Sherfane Rutherford for a three-ball duck. Gurbaz could not keep up with the required run rate. He was dismissed for a 15-ball 18 by Junaid Siddique. Stallions were 35/2 at the halfway stage. Then Sunil Narine bowled a three-run over. Siddique did not concede a boundary in his second over either. Ben Cutting lost his wicket for a 13-ball 11 in the eighth over. In the penultimate over, Qais Ahmad got rid of Leus du Plooy for a 15-ball 16. Karim Janat hit a couple of sixes as consolation. David bowled the final over and conceded just five runs against Janat and Sam Billings. Stallions managed to post 70/4 as they lost the final by 80 runs.

David in red-hot form

David finished as the highest run-scorer in the tournament. He scored 393 runs from nine innings at an average of 65.60 and strike rate of 263.76. He hit 38 sixes in the tournament, almost double the next batter on the list.
