India-Pakistan are part of same group in Asia Cup 2025.

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) are currently facing a lot of criticism after India agreed to play the Asia Cup 2025 and the Asian Cricket Council (ACC) announced the schedule of the mega event where the arch-rivals are in the part of same group.

ACC have announced the schedule for the mega event, which is scheduled to start from September 9 and India and Pakistan will face each other on September 14, being clubbed together in Group A along with UAE and Oman.

"The BCCI cannot withdraw from the tournament or the match now. The decision was agreed upon after the ACC meeting. Since India is the host nation, nothing can be changed at this stage. An official-level discussion took place, and the outcome was decided accordingly. The match will go ahead as scheduled," BCCI sources told IANS

Earlier, India and Pakistan were scheduled to face each other in the World Championship of Legends, which was cancelled by the organisers after the Indian Legends refused to feature against the neighbouring nation and growing demands from fans to not have any sporting relations with Pakistan in the aftermath of Operation Sindoor.

The mega event is scheduled to start from September 9, and Afghanistan will face Oman in the tournament opener, which will be played in T20 format, aligning with preparations for the 2026 T20 World Cup, and will feature eight teams for the first time in its history. The top teams from each group will qualify for the Super Four stage, followed by the final, which means India and Pakistan potentially face each other three times. India will enter the tournament as defending champions, as they defeated Sri Lanka in the last edition of the final.
