The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) have announced the schedule for India's upcoming white ball series against England, which is scheduled to start from July 1, 2026. India are scheduled to travel to England for the white ball tour, which includes a five-match T20I series followed by a three-match ODI series.
The five-match T20I series is set to begin on July 1, with the opening game taking place at the Banks Homes Riverside in Durham. The second match will follow on July 4 at Emirates Old Trafford Stadium in Manchester. The third T20I is scheduled for Trent Bridge in Nottingham, while the fourth and fifth matches will be held at the Seat Unique Stadium in Bristol and the Utilita Bowl in Southampton on July 9 and 11, respectively.
The ODI series will commence on July 14, with the first match taking place at Edgbaston Stadium in Birmingham. The second ODI is scheduled for July 16 at Sophia Gardens in Cardiff, and the final match of the series will be held on July 19 at Lord’s in London.
Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli, who have already announced retirements from Tests and T20Is, will be seen in action in the ODI series against England. There were rumours that Rohit and Virat would hang up their boots from the One Day Internationals because BCCI is looking at Shubman Gill as India's captain in the fifty-over format as well. However, BCCI vice president Rajeev Shukla confirmed that they are looking forward to witnessing them in ODIs.
"I want to make it very clear once and for all. We all feel Rohit and Virat's absence, but they took the decision on their own. BCCI has a policy of never telling any player when to retire and from which format. This is on the player. This was their own decision. They took retirement on their own. We will always miss them. We consider them great batters. The good thing is they are available in ODIs," said Shukla in an interaction with ANI.
Rohit and Virat's last international outing came in the ICC Champions Trophy 2025, where unbeaten India defeated New Zealand in the final to win the title.
