Quinton de Kock’s explosive century and Ryan Rickelton’s quick half-century helped South Africa beat the West Indies by seven wickets in the second T20I at Supersport Park, Centurion.

De Kock scored a career-best 115 off just 49 balls, while Rickelton remained unbeaten on 77 from 36 balls. Their partnership powered South Africa to chase down a challenging 222 in just 17.3 overs, giving the Proteas the T20I series with one game to spare.

West Indies batting

For the West Indies, Shimron Hetmyer smashed 75 off 42 balls, and Sherfane Rutherford hit 57 off 24 balls. Their aggressive batting helped the visitors post a strong total of 221/4. Brandon King also contributed 49 off 30 balls, narrowly missing a half-century, but captain Shai Hope and Rovman Powell failed to fire runs from the bat, dismissed after scoring only 4 and 2, respectively.

Keshav Maharaj was the pick of the bowlers for South Africa by clinching two wickets, conceding 22 runs in four overs quota. Fast bowlers Kagiso Rabada and Marco Jansen also picked up a wicket each.

South Africa's chase

Chasing 222, Proteas captain Aiden Markram was dismissed early for 15, but de Kock and Rickelton took control, putting together an incredible 162-run partnership for the second wicket. After de Kock was out, Rickelton continued the attack and guided South Africa to victory in the 18th over.

For the West Indies, only Akeal Hosein impressed with the ball, taking 2 wickets, while Matthew Forde claimed 1.
