India’s Champions Trophy 2025-winning star Shreyas Iyer showcased his form in the third unofficial ODI against Australia A, ahead of the upcoming Australia tour, as India A defeated Australia A in the series decider to clinch the three-match series 2-1 at Green Park Stadium in Kanpur.

Iyer, who has been named vice-captain for the upcoming ODI series against Australia, scored a fluent 62 off 48 balls. Earlier, Prabhsimran Singh laid the foundation with a blistering 102 off 68 deliveries, helping India A secure a two-wicket win in a 317 chase.

Riyan Parag also contributed with 62 off 55 balls, while Ayush Badoni chipped in with 21 off 20. In the tense finish, Viprag Nigham held his nerve with an unbeaten 24 off 32, alongside Arshdeep Singh, who added 7 off 4 to take India A over the line. Notably, Shreyas Iyer was leading the side in the ODI series against Australia.

Abhishesk Sharma flops again

Notably, Abhishek, who sacrificed his sister's wedding to feature in the last two unofficial ODIs against Australia A, again failed to perform in the third ODI as he was dismissed after scoring 22 runs, dismissed by Todd Murphy in the 12th over.  Earlier, the legendary batter got out on a golden duck in the second unofficial ODI. 

Australia A scored 316 runs

In the first innings, after opting to bat, Australia A posted a total of 316 runs. Jack Edwards top-scored with 89, while Liam Scott contributed 73 and Cooper Connolly added 64 off 49 balls.

Arshdeep Singh and Harshit Rana were the pick of the bowlers, claiming three wickets each. Ayush Badoni took two wickets, while Nishant Sindhu and Gurjanpeet chipped in with one wicket apiece.
