Goa batters Snehal Kauthankar and Kashyap Bakle smashed triple hundred during the match against Arunachal Pradesh in the Ranji Trophy 2024-25 plate group match in Porvorim, on Thursday. They created history by becoming the first pair to have a 600-plus run partnership in the Ranji Trophy history. Whereas Kauthankar smashed the second-fastest triple ton by an Indian in just 205 balls. Whereas Bakle took 269 balls.

Their knocks helped Goa put 727/2 on the scoreboard after which they declared their innings. Earlier, they also bowled out Arunachal for a mere 84 with the help of Arjun Tendulkar's first Ranji Trophy.

By the way, after a 191-ball triple ton for Border against Eastern Province in 2017–18, Kauthankar is currently third on the all-time First Class list, with only Marco Marais of South Africa separating him and Agarwal.

Actually, there has only been one first-class innings with two triple-centuries prior to this one. In 1988–89, when Tamil Nadu defeated Goa at Panaji, they scored 912 for 6 declared, Indian Test batters WV Raman made 313, and Arjan Kripal Singh scored 302 not out in just his third first-class match.

Kauthankar came in at No. 4 and formed an incredible partnership with Kashyap Bakle as both of them smashed triple hundred, as they batted in response to Arunachal's meagre first-inning score of 84. Bakle and Kauthankar's partnership for the third wicket stood at 606 runs which is the highest-ever partnership in Ranji Trophy history.
