Sunrisers Hyderabad’s (SRH) bowling all-rounder, Shivang Kumar, wreaked havoc in the ongoing Madhya Pradesh Premier League (MPPL) 2026 with a 13-ball fifty. Representing Bundelkhand Bulls against Malwa Stallions, Shivang scored a 17-ball 65 in the run chase to turn the tide, helping his team win by three wickets at Holkar Stadium, Indore, on June 10.

Shivang takes 2 but Stallions set 216-run target

In the 16th match of the season, Stallions skipper Ashutosh Sharma won the toss and opted to bat first. Shivang did not start well with the ball, conceded 16 runs in first over including a couple of sixes. Stallions were 75 for no loss after powerplay overs. Bhumesh Muzalda dismissed Saksham Purohit for a 26-ball 40 in the seventh over. Ansh Yadav reached his fifty from 27 balls.

Shivang was brought back into the attack and he conceded seven runs. In his third over, he got the wicket of Akhil Nigote Yadav who scored 33 runs from 25 balls. In his last over, Shivang also got the wicket of Ansh who scored 81 runs from 44 balls. The left-arm wrist spinner conceded 45 runs from his quota of four overs. In the slog overs, skipper Ashutosh contributed with an 8-ball 25 cameo, helping his team post 215/5. Parth Sahani remained unbeaten for a 10-ball 20.

Shivang’s record-breaking assault

Bulls' run chase got off to a fiery start. Abhishek Pathak contributed with an 11-ball 22 before falling to Sahani in the third over. Shivang arrived at the crease and opened his account with a six. In the last powerplay over, he targeted Vineet Rawat. Shivang hit the pacer for three sixes and as many fours in the over, reaching his fifty from just 13 balls, the fastest in league's history. In the seventh over, Shivang's knock came to an end. He lost his wicket to Prashant Kasde for a 17-ball 65. His knock was laced with seven fours and five sixes. When he departed, the score was 99/2 after 6.4 overs.

Bulls win by 3 wickets

In the ninth over, Harsh Gawali's troubled stay at the crease came to an end. He scored 16 runs from 19 balls. Vikrant Bhadoriya took charge of the run chase. Sahani returned in the 14th over to get Parth Goswami's wicket. Goswami contributed with a run-a-ball 22. In the next over, Bhadoriya hit Pawan for three fours and a six before departing for a 21-ball 43. A couple of more wickets fell but Gautam Joshi (12-ball 19) and Aman Jain (8-ball 17) took Bulls over the line with five balls to spare and seven wickets in hand.

Shivang’s debut IPL season

Shivang was picked for his base price of Rs 30 lakh by SRH. From 13 games, he claimed nine wickets at an average of 41.66. With the bat, he couldn't contribute much, scoring 53 runs from six innings at a strike rate of 115.21. His best of 27 came in a losing cause against Rajasthan Royals (RR) in the IPL 2026 Eliminator.
