During the lavish celebration of the Wankhede Stadium's 50th anniversary on Sunday, January 19, legendary Indian cricketer Sunil Gavaskar was spotted swaying his leg to the well-known Bollywood song 'Om Shanti Om'. In order to mark the 50th anniversary of the famous Indian stadium, the Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA) asked a number of cricket veterans to participate in a special program.

In order to commemorate the event, many stars including Ajinkya Rahane, Sachin Tendulkar, Gavaskar, Ravi Shastri, and Rohit Sharma, were present at the venue. As he and singer Shekhar Ravjiani danced to the Bollywood song 'Om Shanti Om' during the ceremony, Sunil Gavaskar was spotted in a cheerful, upbeat mood. After Shekhar gave him the microphone, Sachin Tendulkar was also spotted singing the song.
The Men in Blue won their second ODI World Cup at Wankhede Stadium, defeating Sri Lanka in the final on April 2, 2011, leaving the stadium's name immortalized in Indian cricket history. In addition, Virat Kohli's historic 50th ODI century and India's first-ever whitewash over in Test cricket were also witnessed at the venue.
Rohit on Champions Trophy
Rohit Sharma, the captain of India, was also spotted posing with the ICC Champions Trophy during the festivities. The trophy was on display at the stadium prior to the massive event, which is scheduled to start on February 19.
"We will embark on another tournament. I am sure when we reach Dubai, the wishes of 140 crore people will be behind us, we know that, We will try and do everything we can to bring this trophy back here to the Wankhede" Rohit said the Wankhede Stadium.
India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, and New Zealand are all in Group A of the Champions Trophy. On February 20, Rohit Sharma-led side will play Bangladesh in Dubai to begin their campaign. On February 23, they will play Pakistan, which is a much-awaited match. All of the Men in Blue's games, including the semifinal and potential final, will take place in Dubai.
